Velocity Gold Coast Budo Challenge

Following on from the success of previous years, it is our pleasure to invite you to the 2019 Gold Coast Budo Challenge, a major annual martial arts tournament fostering a true spirit of Budo and co-operation. Like last year, every effort will be made to ensure the competitors’ and spectators’ enjoyment, satisfaction and safety.
This year, due to popularity and growth, we will be running the tournament over 2 days. This will enable us to maintain the popular format of double elimination, provide exciting demonstrations and entertainment and provide a more relaxed atmosphere with shorter competition days.
The Gold Coast Budo Challenge promotes:
- inclusion for all ages and capabilities;
- excellent value for money with the ‘double elimination’ format in use across both Kata/forms and Kumite sections; and
- safety, with varying degrees of protective padding used throughout the Kumite divisions.
Whilst every competitor competes in their own categories, they will also be competing against every other competitor on a unique percentage basis to determine the Kata Champion, Kumite Champion and Overall Budoka of the Tournament.
